How is the weekend over? Some weekends feel like they last a lifetime, others go by in a flash. This weekend was one of the quick ones but it was definitely jam packed!
The weekend was off to a good start when I had a delicious meal at Harlem Underground Restaurant. The most flavourful Jambalaya. I’m still kicking myself that I forgot to take a picture. If you live in Toronto or are visiting you should definitely check it out.
I spent Saturday morning in my happy place…The St. Lawrence Market. So many testers at Kozlik’s Mustards. I bought a bottle of Honey Dijon.
My good friend and I went in with a game plan. Cook a full course meal with fresh ingredients from the Market. Seared Ahi tuna was on the menu.
Check out her brand new kitchen. Isn’t it gorgeous? That’s a steamer in the counter between the sink and stove. I took way too many pictures for future inspiration 🙂
The end result! Sesame encrusted Ahi Tuna, the perfect roasted potatoes roasted in duck fat from Whitehouse Meats (I promise to post the recipe soon!) and Rainbow Kale Slaw…yeah we went all out.
St. Patrick’s Day festivities with Matcha chocolate pancakes. Topped with maple cinnamon pumpkin butter. So much green!
Finally got around to trying out this recipe for quinoa pizza crust. It worked perfectly! With some homemade pesto, goat cheese, roasted brussels and spicy sausage (also from Whitehouse Meats). This is a meal I MUST make again. YUM!
Hit the gym to work off all that food! I was the only one there…I may or may not have been singing out loud…It was splendid!
The weekend went by way too fast but it was filled with goodness! Time to get ready for Monday and back to business.
How was your weekend? Do you like going to food markets? Did you know that the St. Lawrence Market was rated the #1 market in the world by National Geographic? Pretty cool eh?
