{MIMM} Minneapolis Edition

October 14, 2013
Happy Monday! Currently writing this from the sky somewhere between Minneapolis and Toronto. I’ll be honest, it took all my will-power to board this plane. I did NOT want to leave Minneapolis. C and I were in town for the weekend visiting his wonderful parents. The weekend felt like a dream. It was so nice to spend time with loved ones, eat delicious food, soak in the gorgeous fall weather and just get away from it all.

Highlights included the Mill City Farmer’s Market, walks and drives around the city, a movie, Trader Joe’s, and some amazing eats at Spoon River, Figlio, The Zumbro and Mill Valley Kitchen. I also finally met my girl Lee! I’ve been reading Fit Foodie Finds since she started it and I could not have been more excited to meet up with my soul sista! She is as amazing in person as she appears on her blog. Now let the photo-dump commence…

A duo of dual citizens.
Mill City Farmer’s Market
Please check out those orange squash! Apparently they’ve been extinct for 700 years but seeds were recently found on an excavated shipwreck. Any idea how you would cut into one of them?
Beautiful.
Mill City Museum.
Lunch at Spoon River.
We missed you Lo!
Fall in Minneapolis.
Happiness.
Brunch at The Zumbro
Love this girl <3
Pumpkin everything!
Wine for her. Whiskey for him. Cheese and crackers for all.
The perfect end to a perfect weekend.

Minneapolis I’ll be back for you!

Have you ever been to Minneapolis? What did you get up to this weekend?

    1. That orange squash tidbit was so cool! I love hearing about little things like that. Did you have an opportunity to try?

    2. I really wish I was a dual citizen. My mom had to forfeit her China passport when she became an American. Now they stopped the law where you can only have one but she can not get it back. Sucks.

I have to say Americans do do Thanksgiving correctly in terms of their Macy’s day parade! Love the picture of you looking through the window – so picturesque. The pictures of you and your man are too adorable and fall-y!! Love it! I’ve been to Minneapolis once…it was OK but I’m not a big fan of cold weather and I went at the end of November so I wasn’t a fan of the snow. A beautiful city though….and lots of fitness lovers!!

Oh my gosh, that last pic is gorgeous! I so wish I had a fireplace in my house…especially right now since it’s all of 65 degrees in here and I’ve already had TWO cups of tea and I’m STILL shivering! Why yes, I am so stubborn that I refuse to turn on my heat in the middle of October! If you’ve ever been to the south for longer than three days to see just how fickle the weather can be, then you’d totally understand! Lol

Minneapolis is great! Or at least, the small part that I got to see back in June when I was visiting General Mills! We walked around downtown a bit and checked out a couple of restaurants, but I would love to go back and see more!

Fess up! How many pumpkin items seduced you in Trader Joe’s? 😉

PS, give me an ax and I’ll handle that squash! Muahaha!
