Summer Lately

August 11, 2014

It’s been a while since I’ve done a weekend recap. With all of the travelling, I thought the rest of the summer would be spent tackling my Summer 2014 Bucket List, but it’s ended up being so much more.

I’ve been fortunate to be able to escape the city quite a bit lately and have been trying to soak in the rays and get in as much activity outside as possible. But now I’m sitting eating take-out with my besties by my side and I’m not eager to be sitting in front of this screen. So instead I’m giving you a major photobomb of what I’ve been up to lately. I do NOT want this summer to end!

Hiking out at the Royal Botanical Gardens with ma main man.

jetskiAnd a casual 50 chocolate chip pancakes to feed 25. The perfect way to cap off a weekend of fun.

BreakfastIt’s crazy to think how quickly this summer is going by AND that I will be in Martha’s Vineyard a week from now! HOLY BALLS I’m excited! In the meantime, It’s back to the grind! So much to do, so much to share.

What has your summer looked like lately? Do you like being in a city in the summer or do you prefer to escape the hustle bustle?

I’m glad you’re getting all this jazz out of your system before the king arrives.

I think it is absolutely epic that you dressed like that to get ice cream. Priorities.

I can not decide which photo I love the most. First the one of you and C on the jetski and second the pancakes. Perfect!!

I love both. I LOVE Summer in the City, the atmosphere, the beats, the energy. But I also love to escape – preferably somewhere with a lake or a beach. I don’t want the summer to end either!!

Jealous of your jet ski adventures! They are so much fun, even though Im quite terrible at driving them. You should have sent Rhett via mail… I swear I would have given him back in a week or two.

This summer’s been a bit weird for me as I’m still adjusting to life after Argentina and looking forward to moving to London in a month or so… I think I’m craving a bit of city time!

What a fun summer weekend. I am with you and summer is flying by! I’ve been trying to tackle some of my summer to do list. Wish weekends would slow down! Jet skis are so fun! Because I don’t live in the city, I actually like going in for the hustle and bustle 🙂

My summer has been super chill, which I don’t actually mind. I love just relaxing outside when I have free time. Of course, there was also Vegas, which was a whole summer’s worth of party crammed into 4 days.
For the first time in a while, I actually feel recharged and ready for fall to get here!

All of your pictures look amazing! I really need to invest in an actual camera… and photography lessons. I am all about making up for lost time the past week so I’ve been off to the cape, playing outside with John and the dogs, grilling at a BBQ and generally doing every summery thing I can. Three more weeks to fit it all in before work starts!

I definitely prefer getting out of the city. Last night when we arrived back in NYC, all I could think was “I didn’t miss this place one bit while I was gone!”

This Summer has been busy so far and will only get busier in the next 5 weeks. I can’t believe I am leaving the country in 5 weeks… help! Not complaining though, got some amazing friends and family to get in, and that is all good 🙂

So I have a bike that has been sitting in our apartment garage for a whole year now…maybe I should get a sweet outfit like you (including a helmet! safety first!!) and convince the BF to ride with me for some icecream!!

Get me out of the city! That’s what I’ve been saying (and doing) all summer. Lots of time in the mountains, lots of time at the lake, lots of time hiking trails… which are -technically- still in the city, but as long as I can’t see any buildings or hear any traffic, I’m okay with this 😀

Sadly, my summer has been pretty much chained to my desk at work. I have tried to make the most of my free time though. Like now for example. Since I didn’t go to the gym today on my lunch hour, I’ve decided to take 10 minutes and eat my salad, while catching up with some of my best bloggers….i.e. you.

I am so glad you’re having a blast and enjoying your summer. You’ve worked so hard lately, it’s nice to see you relax and let loose, not that I think you have a problem doing either. I guess what I’m trying to say, rather badly I might add, is you earned it. Enjoy. Live it up.

Biking to get ice cream is the best reason to bike, in my opinion. 😉 Also I love hiking at the RBG!

My summer so far has been filled with internship, camping, trips to the Niagara area, and England. I hope to enjoy these last few weeks of summer with some hiking and beach days (and hopefully seeing you!).
