Yesterday’s post is making me wonder whether my blog is becoming one long ramble. Welcome to my brain.

1. While I wish I could be an early-morning worker-outer, I am not. Lately I’ve jumped onto C’s workout plan and hit the gym with him late night. That’s what I call a hot date. Now I see why he goes late at night, nap time! Or as he prefers to call it, “shavasana”.

gym2. I had a fabulous meal with Kelly at The Big Crow on Monday. We ordered “The Hibernation Dinner” and it was potentially one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Kelly also managed to convince me to try beef heart which as it turns out is kind of awesome. The only downside is that the restaurant is in a log cabin with fires and smoking meat so for the next 5 days I smelled like I’d gone camping. I think it threw people off because if you know me well you know that camping is the bane of my existence.

big crow3. We finally have a couch! What I failed to mention in Monday’s Rabbit Hole post was that part of Saturday’s funk had to do with the fact that I slept through our couch delivery. My one and only job that day was to be home to receive the couch. I was definitely home but apparently I’m such a deep sleeper I slept through 5 phone calls and the delivery man knocking on my door. Slowly the apartment is getting there…

couch4. This remix is everything. One of my favourite DJs remixing Queen B. Dead.

5. Love you all but NO I WILL NOT BE GOING TO BLEND. I’m sure you will all have a fabulous time, but because my family has the worst timing ever, I will actually be in Park City the following month for a family hiking trip! We’ll also be road trippin’ to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. I am VERY excited, but if past road trips are any indication, someone is going to be left by the side of the road…

    If you are not in Canada in August/September I am officially removing the bestie status from you. Legit. You need to be there for the Arman Summit.

    Ahh the couch scenario sounds all too familiar. The one day I had to wait for internet back in Melbourne- they said be there 10-2- I left at 11.45 for 10 minutes to get some rolls and missed them. Fail.

        Thanks Kelly 🙂 Arman is moving is going to visit at some point and I don’t intend to let him leave. He’s going to be my new roommate.

    I could never go to the gym at night! 1) So busy 2) After work I just want to come home and sit on my butt in my pjs and watch The Millionaire Matchmaker. So, I get myself up at 5. Which sucks too. Can’t. Win.

    Beef Heart?! I always see that on “Chopped” but it totally weirds me out! You little adventurous foodie you.

    Also, camping? YES! Love it. I miss all the good camping in Vancouver. Florida has about -2 mountains, so no good camping

      Watching Millionaire Matchmaker as I type this…Is it sad that I feel so much better knowing I’m not the only person who is kind of obsessed with Patti Stanger?!

    I wanted to go to Blend!…But I can’t. It’s my birthday which isn’t the biggest reason to not go but I also have things already on the schedule that weekend for my son (his elementary school graduation party which I am on the planning committee for as well)…So many people I wanted to meet though finally – we need to plan our own meet-up somewhere!

    Your couch is super cute! I’ve never been camping and I’m pretty sure I’m not missing out. Like, I’m sure I could handle myself if I got stranded or something (I watch Nat Geo occasionally- all the preparation I need), but I wouldn’t choose the wilderness for a vacation.
    I’m not going to Blend either because I live no where near Utah and my summer plan ticket money is taking me to Las Vegas instead 😉

    I went camping once and that was enough for me to veto it for the rest of time! Just not my thing.

    Hehe, that is the same reason I work out so early. I love a good shavasana at like 6AM in the morning following a decent work out. It’s fantastic. Best rest ever 🙂 Also – a hiking trip sounds like a lot of fun! I have never gone hiking, but I have always wanted to try.

    I have gone camping but I have to say, I am not the best camper. I hate being damp when I sleep and I always seem to go when… it is horridly gross outside!! But I like the nature aspect of camping.

      nothing worse than camping in the rain!!! I like hiking all day and sleeping indoors overnight 😉

    haha–love the pic of you and C working out. 🙂 My hubby seems to relax more at the gym than I do. So, I know whatcha mean!

    Camping? Ughhhh not for me but I’m happy for the people that love it (even though I don’t understand).

      But let’s be honest, I spend the majority of time at the gym texting. C says I get a better workout with my thumbs than anywhere else. I can’t deny it!

    As a kid I went camping alot, it has been a long, long time since I have been. As I got older I enjoyed it less and less, but it was fun for a few years 🙂 I was back and forth and back and forth about Blend. I don’t think I am going. I will most likely be in SC during that time.

    The best time to workut is when you feel it! Morning, night, afternoon, as long as it fits your schedule, is better than nothing!!! Camping mmmmmmm, don’t know I’m scared of basically everything, don’t know if I’ll survive. I’ve done it at the beach, but in the woods… not sure I’m interested 😀

    Yay on the couch!
    That restaurant looks woodsy – even the plates! My idea of camping is hitching a tent in my living room, with smores made over the grill – yes – I have done this with my daughter and she thought (at that time) it was the coolest thing ever!

    I already want a new couch like that for my apartment. my one that i have had now for almost two years is just looking ratty. I need to start saving! I don’t know how you do late night workouts. can’t do that at all. more power to ya!

    I’m noooot an early morning workout person. When I was working full time in the summer I did the ‘wake-up-before-6-to-workout’ thing for a couple weeks, but ultimately I switched to after work workouts….so much better for me.
    And I love camping, but my family always does the electric campsites – so we had phone chargers, lights, stoves…probably defeats the purpose a little bit. I went with friends last summer though, which was pretty awesome.
    And YES I’m going to Blend!!! Saaaaaaad that the timing didn’t work for you 🙁

    You already know I’m not going to Blend….I was so sad but now I’m ok with it. Next year! Besides, going to Yellowstone is going to be way cooler anyway. Jealous!! Glad you have a couch. Couch>air mattress, right?

      So Im actually obsessed with the couch. I hated sleeping in the big old bed when Curt was in montreal (again grrrr) this week so I’ve been sleeping on the couch. You’ll love it too when you come visit 😉

    I cannot work out late at night because I’m up late enough lately as it is and my mind races after I work out. I just haven’t been working out a lot in general… blah. Anyway Yellowstone is on my bucket list of places to visit. And I’m not going to Blend because I’m poor. But you should totally go to HLS with me, I’m tryna hit that up.

    I really really realllllllllllllly wanted to go to BLEND, but between april- june .. I have a baby shower, bridal shower, bachelorette and WEDDING 🙁 .. hopefully another meet up in the future tho!

    I’m more of a night-time exerciser. 4-5 pm is my sweet spot but in the summers I like evening runs. I’m just not a morning person. Hope you have a great weekend!

    Beef heart?! I’d love to know what THAT tastes like. What does it taste like?

    I really like your couch so I’m glad that you ultimately received it 🙂 The apartment is looking really cute! I am still anxiously awaiting the full tour.

    The mix is amazing- it is already on its way to being killed by me.

    As far as camping goes, I like the idea of it, but trying it once was enough. I have multiple issues with it, one being that no matter how many layers I sleep in, I’m still frozen and can’t fall asleep, and the second being that staying cold makes one need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and I refuse to get out of the tent by myself because I’m afraid of being mauled by a bear.

    I like taking a big peak into your brain! I would be too exhausted to work out late at night, but I do love night yoga workouts sometimes! I am not really a big camper, but I wonder if that is because I am always too tired to add that in there with all my training!

    Girl I am with you on the morning workout thing. I need my coffee and breakfast before I can even think about that kind of thing. I’ve been obsessed with Beyonce’s new album but every time she comes out with a new album I can’t help but wish its a Destiny’s Child one and not a solo album. Sadly my wish has yet to come true.

    I won’t be going to Blend this year either. It’s my last week of high school and….I guess that’s kinda important.
    I haven’t gone camping in FOREVER! I like hiking, but there are only so many NY mountains that are close by. My bro and I used to go camping on the beach in California with my dad. For some reason, if we did that now, I’d be scared outta my pants…being next to the ocean in the middle of the night creeps me out.

    Blend won’t be the same without you 🙁 But I WILL see you this year… even if it means I have to go to the Arman Summit 🙄 Also… that prank you pulled at breakfast this morning? Not cool. I expect pancakes FedEx’d to my door by noon.

    I kind of love the smell of fires. We have a wood burning stove and the smell reminds me of comforting evenings relaxing by the fire.

    Omg! I hate camping! Bugs like me too much so it doesn’t work out. Plus, I like having a bathroom. Just saying.

    I love to workout in the morning, but that is only because I used to work on the east coast. There, 9:00 or 9:30 is a normal arrival time, which meant I could wake up as late as 7:00 and still get a workout in. Here in the midwest, it seems 8 am is the normal start time…which would mean a 5:30 wakeup call to ensure a workout. Not sure how that’s going to workout.

    That restaurant seems kind of awesome!

    I have gone for lots of hikes but only day trips – never done the camping/overnight thing since I went to camp as a child. I think I would enjoy it, but I must admit that I hate bugs 🙂

    I won’t be going to Blend…although I wish I was. I will..one day!

    I typically workout in the evenings…except on weekends, where I workout in the morning.

    Hiked up to Mount Marcy over the summer with SuperFit. It was my first time going on a hiking trip. It was FUn! It was raining, but it made that much more of an adventure 🙂

    NO to camping unless there s a 5-star hotel involved. I don’t mind being out in nature all day, sweating, doing stuff….but at the end of the day I need a real shower and a nice bed!!!

    Camping is pretty much the bane of my existence, too. Smoke is good for smores and that is it! Beef heart? Way to try new things – you sure make it sound good!

    I’ll camp for no more than 2 nights, and it has to be wimp camping with a shower near by. I go for the s’mores and campfire and none of the daytime nonsense.

    Ahhh you and your mom are adorbs. I wish mine would work out with me, but he’s got a crazy work schedule so that can’t really happen. Owell.
    And yesss to camping! I love love love it. Growing up my daddy and I would camp by the river 3-4 times a summer. We had this little spot all to ourselves. It was awesome. For exercise I would swim up river by myself and when I got tired Id just float back down 🙂

    I love camping! I haven’t been in years though and whenever I see anyone post pictures of it I get surges of jealousy. Maybe this year will be my time!

    No Blend for me, because no money. Damn school/apartment/visa/everything for taking all the moneysss.

    Couch is adorable, and we have all been there. It’s even worse when you’re there for the specified few hours and they don’t show up- day wasted!

    I prefer to work out in the morning, but now a days I have to work out whenever I get time. My sis and her bf work out at night too.
    I love camping so I would have enjoyed your scent 🙂 When we went camping last year, my best friend lived neared the fire because she wanted to smell like camp for the rest of the fall. lol!

    That’s a bummer about Blend, but your apartment is definitely coming along. Hello couch, pictures on the wall, a rug, a table. You’re getting it done.

      I would NEVER hate on nap time! Trust me, I’m a fan. But naptime SUCKS when it’s unintentional and you miss the couch you’ve been waiting 2 weeks to get! I’m still mad about this (even as I type from the couch…)

    I don’t know how people work out late at night… if it’s anytime past 7 pm, there is absolutely nothing on this earth that could persuade me to get my butt off the couch haha.

    I don’t think I’m gonna go to Blend either – it’s so close to the end of my internship, so I know that time is going to be hella stressful. We’ll just have to organize an awesome blogger meet up to make up for it! 😉

    We can commiserate together as I’m not going to blend either as just don’t have the money to make the trip across this time but maybe one year I will 🙂

    Love your new couch and yay to it finally arriving. My boyfriend and I have lived together 4+ years and only just finished sorting our apartment out in December, oops!

    I’m a morning workout person myself because I need to get it over and done with and I come up with too many excuses by the end of the day.

    Camping = nay!!!!

      Fortunately for me C is in a rush to get this place set up. It just messes things up when he goes out of town and I’m expected to be awake for deliveries…apparently.

    I’m basically the worst blogger ever and had no idea what Blend was until Paige told me about it. I knew about HLS and FitBloggin and BlogHer but not Blend. Not that it matters, because I can’t go anyway either. I’m still holding out hope that I’ll get to go to FitBloggin but that probably wishful thinking.

    Camping is not popular here, but I think I’d like it. *I think*. Not going to Blend because I don’t know what it is and I don’t think we even have it here haha.
