I cannot believe it is Sunday already! Where did the weekend go? As per usual I got up to whole lot. From a baseball game to a 5k this weekend was jam-packed with goodness! Currently sitting out in the backyard enjoying the sunshine before the rain sets in (it’s supposed to rain all week). Already day dreaming about next weekend when I am IN NYC!!!! I cannot wait! You can be certain that I will have a seriously long weekend recap after that weekend. But for now let’s go over this past weekends shenanigans.
I started off the weekend with a Blue Jays game. I’m not much of a sports gal so I’ll be honest when I say I maybe paid attention for 5 minutes. There was a whole group of us though so I had plenty of friends to entertain me! Not to mention the beautiful sunshine and skyline of downtown Toronto. Please look at my ridiculous hot dog! I topped it with way too much stuff which became incredibly challenging to eat since I couldn’t eat the bun.
I finally got a solid night sleep (feels like it has been forever!) and woke up amped for some core yoga at Kula. I’ve been making good use of my package deal I bought and I am really enjoying doing more yoga. I was famished after yoga so C and I went and picked up a quick lunch at Aroma. I love their lentil and sweet potato salad and though I know better than to eat the cheese I just couldn’t resist. Big mistake…my tummy was off the rest of the day.
To distract from my stomach issues I helped out my Mom in the kitchen and whipped up the Smitten Kitchen recipe for Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. There is an abundance of rhubarb and strawberries at the farmers markets lately so I thought it would be fitting. I love eating local.
Even though I wasn’t feeling so great I met up with some friends for sushi. We headed somewhere close to my house and though the food was good I could only stomach a couple pieces. Ended up packaging it up in hopes of getting a good nights sleep and healing my stomach before the Color Me Rad race I had Sunday morning.
I’m so happy I made it an early night because I woke up feeling much better. I popped out of bed and packed a bag to prepare for the Color Me Rad run that I was doing with Sarah @My (Mostly) Healthy Life, Katy @Fit in Heels and Michelle @Push Pump Progress and friends! Since I look for any excuse to bake I obviously showed up with a dozen colourful cupcakes! It was amazing to meet these ladies and had such a blast. The race itself wasn’t so organized but it was fun to try something new and it felt great to run! I can’t wait to see more of these incredible women. If you haven’t checked out their blogs, you should because they are AWESOME! More pictures and a recap of the race to come.
Thank you Sarah and Carlton for the pictures!
Have you done a colour run? Are you a fan of baseball? Did you get up to anything fun this weekend?

Sounds like a great weekend! I’m in Vancouver now but when I was living in Toronto Aroma was one of my favourite places to go for coffee and lunch. I loved the friendly atmosphere at Kula too! I’ve never tried their core class before. I’ll have to put that on my list to do when I am home visiting!
That’s so funny! I’m guessing you lived around the annex? Kula is fantastic and I am a huge fan of the iced coffee at aroma (if only it weren’t so expensive!). Just checked out your blog Danielle and I love it! You have a new follower right here 🙂
It was such a blast! I highly recommend doing a color run if one comes to your neighbourhood. I’ll be giving a more comprehensive recap in the next few days. Thanks for stopping by Em 🙂
