  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 lbs fresh vine tomatoes, roughly chopped
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 3/4 tsp salt, or more to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Add olive oil and onions to a large sauce pan or dutch oven and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes or until onions are translucent.
  2. Add in garlic and cook for 1-2 more minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes (including all juices) and increase temperature to medium-high until mixture starts to boil.
