These Chocolate Cherry Crepes are a perfect healthy recipe for breakfast or dessert! With a cherry filling sweetened with honey, a grain-free crepe shell and a light drizzle of chocolate, these crepes will satisfy any sweet tooth.
Without fail, any chocolate cherry recipe will forever make me think of my Dad. It’s his favourite flavour and the #1 way to his heart. With Father’s Day on my mind, I knew I wanted to share a chocolate cherry recipe. The crepe part happened because I wanted to be able to show off my crepe skillz…
I am without a doubt, a daddy’s girl. Being the youngest girl of four I didn’t really have a choice. That being said, I’m also kind of a momma’s girl. Really I’m just a baby and will never grow up.
It’s true, if you were to ask any of siblings if I embody the role of “the baby”, they would whole-heartedly agree.
What’s funny is that with my friends I have a rep for being pretty independent and self-sufficient.
C laughs anytime someones makes a comment about this because he’s gotten to know the baby in me over the past 4 years.
I’ve always found it fascinating that you can have a reputation with one crowd and a complete opposite with another. Or maybe that’s just me?
I had no choice in being the baby of my family. I was consistently surrounded by older, wiser people (who happen to be particularly vocal about their wisdom…), which in turn made me behave somewhat older and wiser around my friends. I’m the first person to fall apart in front of my family and the last one holding it together with my friends. I’m like some crazy social experiment!
My psych background makes me want to delve more into this, but the lady sitting across from me on the train is having a full-out conversation in Japanese on speaker phone and it’s distracting me from my thoughts.
This is probably a good thing. You should thank her.
So instead I’ll leave you with this Chocolate Cherry Crepe recipe. They’re made with my go-to grain-free crepe base but this time I stuffed em’ full of fresh cherries (cherry season baby!) and drizzled them with chocolate for daddy.
Did I just say daddy?

June 16, 2015 at 1:44 amShut the front door with these crepes. I need them in my life… almost as much as I need you!
I’m a daddy’s girl… probably the biggest daddy’s girl of all time. I am a total baby around my family who can barely breathe on her own but pretty independent on my own. No wonder we are friends!

June 14, 2015 at 11:24 amLol, thanks Davida, this recipe is perfect for lazy staying-in Sunday mornings 🙂
Even though I’m the eldest of 3 girls I’m a daddy’s girl, but still being the eldest, responsible big sister both with my family and most of my friends. It’s only with one of my high school best friend (and my boyfriend) that I can be carefree and act silly and goofy if I feel like it, which is so liberating and fun since it’s unusual for me. 😀
For fathers’ day I usually make my dad a big bowl of floating island, since it’s his favourite dessert 🙂

June 15, 2015 at 10:42 amI have no idea what a floating island is but you’re on for making me one, one of these days! It’s fun to be both responsible and a little bit wild. Nice to be a bit of both 🙂

June 17, 2015 at 3:30 amYou don’t know that dessert? oh my. It is delicious, creamy and light. This is “floating island”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floating_island_(dessert) and a basic recipe: http://www.stella-exlibris.com/p/sunday-treats_2785.html
I’ve already made healthier versions of it with almond/rice milk and honey, still as delicious. Let me know how you like it if you try it 🙂
