It feels good to be back! It was so nice to disconnect and enjoy a few days away from home. Certainly not a relaxing vacation but exactly what I needed to get me out of the winter dumps.
Before I recap I just wanted to give all of you who linked up to Friday’s Great St. Patrick’s Day Green Link-Up a HUGE thank you! I was honestly astounded by your creativity and talent. I don’t have an ounce of Irish blood in me but I was the proudest leprechaun you ever did see.
Now for the fun stuff. Here’s what I ate, drank and saw in NYC these past few days:
The Eats:
-Dinner at Empellion Cocina– the pistachio guacamole and salsa sampler is a MUST.
-Brunch at Westville-an NYC staple and one of my favs (bloody mary included).
-The BEST chocolate chip cookie in NYC at The City Bakery-you better bet I have tried 90% of NYC’s bakeries and this is by far the best chocolate chip cookie of all five boroughs.
-Brunch at Coppelia-I lived 1/2 block away from here and this was my go-to restaurant for all meals but especially their Huevos Rancheros.
-Homemade Bloody Mary Mussels from Cassie-Dale and I love bloody mary’s and mussels and Cassie is a straight-up genius with this recipe.
The Drinks:
-Wine at Birreria-surprisingly cheap and when the weather is nicer one of the best rooftop patios in NYC.
-St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at Dempsey’s.
-Lots of cider, bloody mary’s and wine across the city.
The Sights:
–Chelsea Market in search of Jacques Torres chocolate, which apparently closed down (only this location).
-Shopping at my favourite clothing store, Club Monaco.
-Shopping at my favourite grocery store, Trader Joe’s (duh).
-Shopping for my biggest weakness, food props at Fishs Eddy.
The People:
-I finally met Britt who is super cool and as awesome as she comes across on her blog.
-The sister-wives who legitimately complete me.
-Everyone else who I got to catch up with, you know who you are 😉
A fabulous weekend! And now I have to go unpack a suitcase full of Trader Joe’s goodies.
Have you ever been to NYC? What are your favourite places to eat, drink and see?
Give me all the salsaaaaaaaa!!!! I haven’t been to NYC in YEARS!
Oh wow, so many delicious eats! I think I would seriously go into shock in NYC because of all the amazing restaurant choices. Actually sometimes I even feel that way in Toronto!
Ahh looks like so much fun! I love NYC and I’m already missing it from my last trip in November. I don’t even want to think about how much stuff you bought from Trader Joe’s haha. Tell me you bought the sea salt almonds!
So much fun! I can’t wait to hear a llllll the details next week 😉
So glad you had a great time! I love NYC. I went to school in Philly, so I spent quite a few weekends in New York visiting one of my close friends at the time who went to Columbia and family, and attending conferences and just going shopping. I miss it so much! I love Chelsea Market! It’s one of my favorite places. Central Park is my favorite though. I love parks in big cities!
Oh gosh I love NYC. The boyfriend’s brother and sister-in-law live in Murray Hill in Manhattan, so I frequented Cafe Lucid on the daily. The croissants are amazing.
;alksjd;afjsdl!! this is an EPIC collage (and epic post all over!!!). YOU complete me, can’t get enough of you. LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU
I’ve only done a couple of short day trips to NYC – I would love to go and spend time sometime!
Sounds like a perfectly great weekend of food, drinks!! and friends. Hopefully you aren’t exhausted this week!!
I’ve missed youuuuuuuu! Seriously, woman, we need to have a Skype date STAT — I can’t even remember when our last one was, which is just not okay. Glad you had a good time, though. I haven’t been to NYC since I was a tiny little thing, but I’d really love to go again.
You packed a ton into a weekend! And now I’m craving an NYC trip! I spy an Eataly wine glass 🙂 I went last time I was in NYC and I loved it. I loved the chaos and all the sights and all the options. It’s like an ADD Fat Kid heaven.
