What an absolutely perfect weekend! The extra day certainly helped. I was fortunate enough to be able to spend the last 3 days in Montreal with some of my favourite people in the world. It’s weekends like these that remind me how incredibly fortunate I am.
Rather than naming this post “Weekend Eats” I’ve decided to change it to “Weekend Recap”. Though most of my pictures will be of food and some delicious eats I’ve consumed it’s truly the people I spend these meals with that matter. I hope that more friends and family will make appearances on the blog. But let’s get to it!
BYOW + Indian food? Yes please! This meal at Bombay Mahal was such a blast. Mostly for the people I spent it with and for the wine. The food was good but did not sit well. Based on the cream that seemed to be a staple in every dish I knew full well it was a bad idea but sometimes sacrifices need to be made 😉
Brunch with C’s cousin and Aunt. They are so wonderful! As was this yogurt parfait from Universel. It came topped with strawberries and banana and a side of honey. I was having a craving for peanut butter so I mixed that in. What better way to start Saturday?
Then it was time to hit the gym! If you know me well you know my obsession with the MAA. I have been a member of many gyms but nothing compares to this place. Fortunately C is still a member so I always stop by when I’m in town. Because i’m injured I took it easy. Warm-up on the elliptical, a short shoulder and back workout and a 10 minute ab workout which I will post this week. Followed by 30 minutes of basketball and plenty of stretching. Please notice my girly wrist flick.
After some fuel and fitness it was time for some relaxation. We met up with my best friend and her boyfriend to see a movie. It was gorgeous outside so we decided to walk to the theatre (it’s a bit of a trek). We stopped at a cute little tea shop where I got myself a coconut tea latte. It was so delicious and exactly what I needed. Sab got an interestingly titled tea blend to help with her sore throat. It seemed to do the trick.
Since the four of us don’t get to spend time together very often we continued our chills into the most scrumptious dinner! We went to Nouveau Palais, a restaurant which has taken a unique twist on classic comfort food. Everything about this meal was perfect. I plan on doing a more detailed post soon but in the meantime please start drooling over this sweet potato pie. I NEED to make a version of this asap.
To top it all off I made a visit to one of the best chocolate shops in Montreal, Les Chocolats de Chloe. I bought the 70% hazelnut and 85% dark chocolate bars as treats for myself and a small bag of 70% dark chocolate chips for a baked treat I have in store for you this week. The lady at the counter was so helpful and let us try so much chocolate! I could have spent hours in there.
I certainly made the most of my quick visit to Montreal! Had such a fabulous time. Happy Easter to everyone celebrating. I hope your bellies are as full with chocolate as mine is 🙂
Tell me about your weekend! Have you ever been to Montreal? If so, did you have any noteworthy meals?
